Typically, a bed bug bite is nothing too irregular to look at. Like many insect bites, there may be an area of red inflammation around the area of the bite. The may also be the development of a hard but relatively small white welt in the centre of the bite area.

Bed Bug Symptoms People Have Reported
"Bed bug bite does not cause blisters. They cause mild pain and inflammation but no itching and blisters."

"Large welts are possible if you are allergic to them, as I am, but the bleeding seems to be associated with how much you scratch them. My bites never ever bleed, but they did become alarmingly large welts."

"I got bedbugs bites when I was on vacation. Mine look like this: 3 bumps in a row but there kinda curved. If you connected them they would be like an isosceles triangle."

Bed Bugs - The Good News
Although they are irritating and it is unsettling to think about, bed bugs are not commonly known for carrying diseases. As well as this, the bite itself should be completely painless. However the aftermath of this can be itchy or irritating. This is because the bed bug has transferred salivary fluid when it has bitten you.

It is advisable that you attempt to distinguish the differences between insect bites and other skin irritations and inflammations. Contradictory to their name; bed bugs are not confined purely to your bed. Nevertheless, your mattress is the most common place to discover them.

Day Time Bites Are Normally Not Bed Bugs
This being said, if you are ever getting the feeling of bites during your regular day, this is not bed bugs. They do not reside under the skin and are only known to feed once every few weeks. This means any sort of skin irritation during the daytime could very well be associated with another insect bite or perhaps even an allergic reaction to something.

Eradicate Bed Bugs
There are numerous products available to help you combat bed bugs. These can be used on your mattress and bed clothes as well as other furniture such as chairs and in intricate areas like the back of your wardrobes.

The most important thing to do when attempting to eradicate bed bugs is consistency. Using the methods of reducing the infestation on a regular basis is the only way to get rid of them. This is because they are laying eggs in the furniture which if gone unnoticed then brings on more young bed bugs in place of the exterminated ones.

Bed bugs are nocturnal, meaning they come out at night. It's possible that they can migrate to a sofa, but for the most part, they tend to stay where the host rests the most, usually in the bedroom in the mattress.

They feed on human blood, and once they are discovered, there is already an infestation. There are some over the counter sprays that you can purchase, make sure that the product is more than just an allergy encasement.

You can steam clean the mattress, and all the surrounding furniture, wash all the clothing in water above 120 degrees. In the case of the living room, every thing needs to be cleaned and washed very well. Hope this helps, good luck.

They bite any time of the day, depending on the infestation. They can be in your sofa if you like to veg out in front of the tv.

These guys are nearly impossible to get rid of on your own unless you are 100% committed to dusting and cleaning every day. They spread fast too - I would find a reputable exterminator myself, as we did, but there is SO much information online: Start with bedbugger.com

Bed bug bite does not cause blisters. They cause mild pain and inflammation but no itching and blisters. It might be other thing like spider or any other insect bite. To relieve it apply a mild corticosteroid twice a day.

This again is not true. My bed bug bites were the itchiest insect bites I've ever had, and I lived in the rainforest for a while. Mine actually did blister a little too, but if you're not getting them in groups of three (called breakfast, lunch, and dinner), it might be a different bug. In my experience, I almost always had three bites, often in a row or grouped together.

As far as I know, bed bugs do not bite. They rather secrete a poisonous chemical whenever they are frightened and this chemical when secreted on humans looks like a slight burnt.

Oh no. They definitely bite. They secrete something when they first bite you so you don't feel them biting then they scurry away. It's that numbing agent that most people are allergic to.

You can see the adults very clearly if you're looking. If it's a bad infestation, you'll see a lot of them. If it's not, you'll have to look more carefully. The nypmhs are hard to see - they are the size of a grain of salt.

This is not true. We had a bed bug infestation that was caused by a bed bug infested couch. They are likely to live anywhere where you spend a lot of time, in your bed, on your couch, at a computer desk.... And in surrounding furniture and carpet and possibly walls. They will travel even up to 100 feet for a meal.

The size of bed bug bites varies because of many factors. While piercing
through the human skin, theses bugs inject an anticoagulant along with
their saliva. It is how this particular anticoagulant reacts with
someone's blood that decides the size of the bite. Another important
factor is the number of times the person got bit. Multiple bites in the
same area might cause excessive itching and inflammation leading to an
elongated mark.
